Lily O'Brien's Corporate Background

Mary Ann O'Brien founded her company in 1992, through hard work, dedication, and after driving around Ireland selling chocolates out of the trunk of her car, she found herself selling them to one of Ireland's top retailers. Soon after, she teamed up with her business partner, Peter Queally. Together, they successfully grew the company on the back of a culinary boom in Ireland.

Today, Lily O'Brien's Chocolate's manufactures over 80 tons of chocolate per week and can be found in retailers all over the globe. Last year it served over 18 million chocolates on airlines such as British Airways, Delta, Virgin and Continental combined.


The New York café was opened by the Irish Prime Minister when he was on a visit to New York in 2009. The café is owned and operated by Lily O'Brien's shareholder, Cathal Queally.


Mary Ann O'Brien was nominated to the Irish Senate in 2011 by the Taoiseach (Prime Minister), Enda Kenny.
